The Ran and Ginny Fiennes Award invites applications to support humanitarian, scientific or educational projects which follow in the Transglobe Expedition’s tradition of challenge and perseverance.

The award seeks to assist individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to exploration, personal challenge, cultural or environmental engagement, and the pursuit of meaningful expeditions that inspire others.

The program provides financial assistance for expedition planning, travel, research, equipment, logistics, and related field expenses. Historically, grants have typically ranged from £2,000 to £5,000, although applications requesting smaller amounts are equally welcome, particularly for well-defined early-stage or low-cost projects.

In exceptional circumstances, larger funding requests may also be considered where applicants can demonstrate significant expedition value, broader impact, or unique opportunities aligned with the award’s objectives. The award is intended not only to provide financial support but also to encourage innovative, responsible, and inspiring expeditionary endeavors by emerging explorers.
