Ocean Culture’s Storytelling Grants support creators worldwide with project funding to produce stories in any medium that inspire connection to the ocean, explain its science and culture, or document threats and solutions that can prompt action.

Now in its fourth year, the programme has supported projects in more than 30 countries and reached millions of people worldwide.

Applicants can propose stories that inspire a sense of wonder, beauty or personal connection to the ocean; explain ocean science, culture, history, species or places; or document a threat or solution in progress and point toward action, such as policy change, habitat recovery or community-led conservation.

Stories may be made in any medium, including film, photography, essays, illustration and audio. The programme is open to solo creators and teams, working in single or multiple formats.

Grants of £1,000, £3,000 and £5,000 are available to ocean storytellers working in any medium.
