The Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC), established in 1971 under the Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation Act (Chapter 67.03 of Laws of Malawi 1971), is a government-owned entity aimed at enhancing the Malawian economy by supporting local farmers and boosting agricultural exports. Initially created as a statutory corporation, ADMARC transitioned into a limited liability company in 2003, with the government holding 99% of its shares. Today, ADMARC plays a significant role in Malawi’s agricultural sector, balancing market needs with support for smallholder farmers.
