Blantyre District is situated in the Southern Region of Malawi, covering an area of about 2,012 square kilometers. It is bordered by Thyolo, Chiradzulu, and Mwanza districts. As of the last census, the population of Blantyre District is estimated at over 800,000, with a diverse mix of urban and rural populations.
The district has a rich cultural heritage, with many communities speaking Chichewa, the national language, alongside other local languages such as Lomwe and Yao.
