CAMFED – Campaign for Female Education

CAMFED Malawi is part of the Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED), an international non-profit organization committed to eradicating poverty and inequality through the education of marginalized girls in rural African communities. Since its inception, CAMFED has supported over 2.6 million children across Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Ghana, and Malawi.

Established in 2009, CAMFED Malawi expanded its operations to 17 districts by 2023. The organization addresses the acute shortage of secondary schools in rural areas, which often forces children to travel long distances, increasing their vulnerability to exploitation and school dropout. By focusing on these challenges, CAMFED Malawi has become a pivotal force in transforming the educational landscape of the country.
