Founded 2000

Lilongwe Handling Company Limited (LIHACO) Malawi was formed in April, 2000 as a subsidiary of the now defunct Air Malawi with the mandate of overseeing ground handling operations at Kamuzu International Airport and Chileka International Airport. Both operations were, and still are, under concessional agreements with Airports Development Limited (ADL) and Department of Civil Aviation (DCA).

Specifically, LIHACO provides passenger, ramp, cargo and baggage handling services to all scheduled flights that operate in and out of Kamuzu and Chileka International Airports. Over the last two decades, our insatiable quest for excellence and customer satisfaction, has seen us establish ourselves as leaders in passenger and ground handling services.

In 2019 Lilongwe Handling Company established LIHACO TRAVEL & TOURS to diversify its service portfolio and revenue base. The core objective of Travel & Travel Business Unit is to provide travel support to both corporate and general travelling public. Our vision is to be the preferred ground handling and travel services provider in Southern Africa.
