Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR)

The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) was established in 2011 through a merger of Bunda College of Agriculture (a constituent college of the University of Malawi) and Natural Resources College (NRC). This merger was part of a vision shared by the late President Bingu wa Mutharika to expand university education and enhance the pool of well-trained human resources in Malawi, aiming to accelerate the country’s socio-economic development.

LUANAR began operations on July 1, 2012, initially with Bunda Campus until NRC was fully integrated in December 2014.
