The Malawi Legal Aid Bureau is a government institution established under Section 3 of the Legal Aid Act, 2011. Its main statutory mandate is to provide legal aid services to indigent and vulnerable individuals in need of legal assistance across Malawi. The Bureau ensures that those who cannot afford private legal services are given fair access to justice, as enshrined in Section 41 of the Constitution of Malawi.
