The National Planning Commission (NPC) is an autonomous public institution in Malawi, established by an Act of Parliament in 2017. The commission plays a central role in coordinating the formulation of long and medium-term national development plans and overseeing their implementation. One of its key achievements has been the development of Malawi 2063, the national vision aimed at transforming Malawi into a wealthy and self-reliant industrialized upper-middle-income country by 2063. In addition, NPC spearheaded the Malawi 2063 First 10-Year Implementation Plan (MIP-1), which outlines actionable strategies for achieving the long-term vision.
