World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA)
WBA is building a movement to measure and incentivise business impact towards a sustainable future that works for everyone. The private sector has a crucial role to play in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), yet there needs to be real change in the way that companies’ impact is measured, if they are to contribute to sustainable and equitable development. Under our corporate accountability approach, companies’ actions and impacts need to be consequential to their success.
This is why we are assessing the progress of 2,000 of the world’s most influential companies across our seven systems of transformations. Our benchmarks are free and publicly available so that stakeholders may use them to hold companies accountable for their actions, while providing companies with the necessary information to enhance their practices. We also strengthen, support and complement our benchmarks through active engagement with our stakeholders so that our insights are relevant and used by all, thereby accelerating companies’ race to better their practices, and contribute to a more sustainable, inclusive, healthy and resilient urban environments. We aspire to have a staff presence in the regions where the companies we assess have their headquarters, and the organisation has a dynamic, purpose driven and diverse global team (we currently have 33 known nationalities, based in 29 countries between our 115 staff members). Our remote organisation has been growing and evolving rapidly over the past year,
