The Planet Forward Storyfest Awards recognizes outstanding student storytelling on environmental innovation, offering winners an expedition to Alaska with Lindblad Expeditions.

Participants are invited to submit published stories in categories such as short video, social video, written story, and multimedia story, each designed to showcase creativity, factual accuracy, and the exploration of underrepresented topics or communities.

Eligible stories should address themes including food systems, water conservation, energy innovation, sustainable mobility, the built environment, biodiversity, public health, and climate justice, with a focus on ideas and breakthroughs that can drive positive change for the planet.

Six grand prize winners will receive a seven-night, eight-day expedition voyage to Alaska’s Inside Passage, Endicott Arm and Prince Rupert, operated by National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions, where they will travel alongside expert naturalists and visit local communities deeply connected to nature and culture.

To be eligible, entrants must be enrolled post-secondary college or university students, or within six months of graduation at the time of entry, and at least 18 years old; stories must be submitted on PlanetForward.org between May 1, 2026 and January 15, 2027.
