Fuel Crops Demeter Ltd, Trading as “Balaka Beef”, is a company in the meat production industry with a beautiful, well managed Ranch, a first-class abattoir and butchery situated along the banks of Shire
River in Balaka. Balaka Beef is looking for an ambitious and motivated candidate to join their team as a Butchery Manager.

Key responsibilities:
• Provides exceptional customer service to internal & external customers, both in person & via phone:
• Manages departmental staff, this may include some or all the responsibilities listed below:
o Administers employee policies to maintain consistency throughout the department and store.
o Approves timecards for payroll and/or creates staff schedules in accordance with established timeframes.
o Conducts performance evaluations and pay increases, addresses complaints, and resolves problems with staff in a timely manner.
o Supervision of staff in the shop and meat processing unit
o Maintains knowledge of purchasing SOPs to purchase, as delegated, in the absence of the Operations Manager.
o Coordinates, supports, and prioritizes daily production plans to ensure the day’s production is completed.
o Ensures the day-to-day operations of the meat department run smoothly; adjusts workflow as needed. Ensures production and shrink are accurately recorded.
o Ensures displays and signage are aesthetically appealing, accurate, and consistent with the company standards.
o Ensures department SOPs are followed and are in line with industry best practices and health and safety
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards mandated by the Malawi Bureau of standards.
• Process and receive customer payments and orders for meat products using POS system for customers who buy on Account.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
• Diploma in Hospitality and Food Processing.
• Proficient computer skills, primarily MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel, to create formulas.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Flexibility to work long hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Being able to live remotely
