An exciting opportunity has arisen at Malawi Posts Corporation to fill the following vacancy:
Position: Chef
Grade: M10
Location: MPC Conference Centre
Reporting to: Head Chef
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Determining food ingredients required for the preparation, production, and presentation of various dishes, snacks, deserts and starters as required.
2. Ensuring that food production meets the highest requirement of taste, timing and presentation.
3. Abiding by statutory and professional rules and standards of food storage, personal hygiene and work area sanitation and safety in order to avoid food contamination and accidents. (Cleaning work areas and equipment).
4. Professional use of equipment and tools during and after food preparation to enhance useful life and prevent accidents.
5. Be part of a team that cooks with creativity, innovation and imagination.
6. Any other related duties that will be assigned by management from time to time.
Job Requirements
1. Malawi School Certificate of Education
2. Certificate in Hospitality with emphasis in food preparation from a reputable institution
3. She/he should be well versed in the preparation of local dishes
4. Not less than 3 years experience in a progressive environment
