The Fortis Fellowship, offered by the Fortis Society, brings people from humble beginnings into a five-month development program of mentorship, professional learning and peer relationships, preparing them to pursue positive impact across sectors and join the Society as lifelong members.

The Society builds each cohort to represent multiple regions and sectors, with deliberate recruitment in regions where its network is less established; the next Summit will take place in Medellín.

Applications are assessed against four pillars: coming from humble beginnings, an altruistic focus on improving other people’s lives, ambition at scale demonstrated through work already begun, and generosity toward others in the network.

Applicants may come from any sector or location, and there is no degree requirement. The Society welcomes people from humble beginnings who aspire to make a significant, positive impact.

There is no cost to apply or participate in the fellowship. Cohort programming and the Summit are funded for fellows.

The fellowship runs for five months, with online mentorship, trainings, brain trusts and practical projects, followed by cohort programming and the Annual Summit in Medellín. Participants spend four full days in Medellín, and the Summit takes place in June.

Applicants submit a resume or portfolio, three short written responses, and a two-minute introduction video. Applications are evaluated by Society members; shortlisted candidates are invited to a virtual interview with the recruitment committee.
