The Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History Potsdam has launched its applications to support two-month fellowships for international postdoctoral scholars to conduct research in twentieth-century German or European history.

The fellowships are designed to support international postdoctoral scholars who wish to pursue individual research projects in Germany while engaging with the academic community at the ZZF. Fellows are encouraged to align their research interests with one or more of the institute’s departments and will be integrated into departmental activities, including presenting their work at the institute’s research seminar.

The Leibniz Summer Fellowship provides a monthly grant of 3,000 €, intended to cover all living and travelling expenses, as well as appropriate insurance, for a two-month residency in Berlin or Potsdam between April and October 2027.

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree at the time of application and reside outside of Germany. Applications are accepted in English or German and must include a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, list of publications, and a project proposal not exceeding 1,500 words.
