Finance Intern
About the job
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare payment, journal, and deposit vouchers with accurate coding, completeness and authenticity and capture transactions/data.
- Review and validate supporting documentation before processing payments and ensure all relevant supporting documentation is attached to all payments.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions following appropriate authorization.
- Review and process travel advance requests and reconciliation.
- Process personnel expense reports.
- Follow up with staff on advance funds liquidation.
- Maintain proper filing of related financial documents, ensuring that all files are properly indexed with folio numbers and locked safely and ensure easy access and retrieval.
- Prepare/assist with various periodic financial reports
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial forecasts.
- Disburse and reconciliation of petty cash.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation.
- Submit tax remittances in a timely manner.
- Prepare schedules for annual audit.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Accountancy
- At least 1/2 years of experience working as a finance intern/assistant or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of financial management processes, including budgeting, expense tracking, and procurement.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work with accuracy.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and project requirements.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
