The Unearthodox Exploration Co-Lab is designed to support 10-month alternative incubator and grant funding for innovators addressing root-cause nature-society challenges with radical systemic approaches.

The program is designed to support edge-walkers—those whose initiatives address root-cause issues in nature-society systems and seek to shift underlying worldviews, paradigms, and institutional mechanisms. Participants are expected to engage in deep, systemic work that goes beyond incremental fixes, focusing on reimagining the systems that have led to environmental and societal challenges. The program welcomes initiatives that challenge commodification, anthropocentrism, and coloniality, and that deepen relationships with the more-than-human world through imaginative and regenerative thinking.

Grant funding of CHF 10,000 is provided to each selected initiative, along with access to a shared pool of up to an estimated CHF 60,000 in non-financial, tailored support. This includes peer learning, individualised coaching, expert guidance, systems mapping, futures thinking, and strategic positioning, as well as visibility through Unearthodox’s communication channels and connection to a global network of mentors and systems innovators.

The 10-month incubation journey runs from March to December 2027, offering an online, cohort-based environment dedicated to systemic transformation and changemaker wellbeing. Regular group calls are scheduled within UTC−6 to UTC+6, and all activities are conducted in English.

Eligible applicants are individuals or teams working on early-stage initiatives at the intersection of environmental and societal change, who have moved beyond the idea stage and are actively testing, proving, deepening, or pivoting their work. The program especially encourages applications from underrepresented voices, including those from the global majority and historically excluded communities, and aims to include at least one Swiss-based initiative in each cohort.
