The Alice McCosh Trust is inviting applicants for one-off grants to support individuals pursuing work or study projects focused on natural history or the environment.

The Alice McCosh Trust was established to honor the memory of Alice McCosh and to further her passion for natural history and environmental education. The Trust aims to support individuals who are committed to advancing knowledge, understanding, and engagement with the natural world.

Grants are intended to assist with work or study that relates directly to natural history and/or the environment, such as fieldwork for research projects or the production of educational materials that promote environmental awareness and action.

One-off grants in the region of £1000 are awarded to successful applicants.

Applicants of any age and nationality are eligible, though preference is given to individuals from, or projects relating to, Scotland, England, Turkey, or Uganda. Eligible applicants may be attached to institutions, following a programme of study or qualification, or engaged in private study. Projects must begin within 12 months of receiving the award, and funding is not available for joining pre-paid tours or expeditions, nor for taught degrees including Masters degrees.

All applicants will be notified of the outcome within three months of the closing date. Award recipients are required to acknowledge the Trust in any resulting publications and to provide a short report and photographs upon completion of their project.
