The Yves Klein Research Grant Programme is inviting applications to support emerging researchers with a residency and research support to investigate Yves Klein’s work and its artistic, historical, and theoretical contexts.

The one-week research residency takes place on site in Paris for five working days, with facilitated access to Yves Klein’s archives, documentary resources, a dedicated workspace, and tailored research support. Grant recipients may undertake the residency in spring 2027, no later than the first half of June, or autumn 2027, no later than the first half of December; exact dates are agreed with the selected grantee.

The grantee receives CHF 6,000 to support research and writing, paid in two CHF 3,000 net instalments by bank transfer: one during the residency and one after the final text is submitted. The Foundation also covers travel and accommodation expenses.

Applicants must be under 35 at the time of application, hold a PhD or postdoctoral degree, and demonstrate strong written and spoken proficiency in French or English. They must be researchers of any nationality and country of residence working in art history, aesthetics, or the humanities. Eligible projects focus on Yves Klein’s work, thought, or practices, or on related historical, artistic, or theoretical contexts.

Applicants must submit a statement of intent of no more than 4,000 characters with relevant bibliographic references, a detailed curriculum vitae of no more than four pages, a published writing sample, and one recommendation letter signed by a research professional. All materials must be in French or English and compiled into one PDF of no more than 10 MB; submitted applications cannot be modified, and only complete applications are reviewed.
