The Hope Grant Program has announced its applications to support victims of violent crime and their families to help manage essential expenses during periods of justice-seeking and recovery.

Focus Areas focuses on financial support for costs arising from violent crime or missing persons cases, including funeral expenses, private investigator services, search efforts, forensic testing, and other verified and pre-arranged essential financial needs linked directly to the incident.

The grant supports individuals and families facing the aftermath of violent crime by helping reduce the financial burden of essential recovery-related costs. Assistance is strictly limited to pre-verified and documented expenses connected to the case, ensuring that funds are directed toward clearly defined needs rather than general support. They cannot cover housing-related costs, custody-related expenses, lost wages, income replacement, or childcare support, even if these arise in connection with the incident.

Applicants must be victims of violent crime, missing persons cases, or their family members or designated advocates who can demonstrate a direct relationship to the case. They must also show clear financial hardship linked to the incident and provide supporting documentation such as police reports, death certificates, invoices, expense quotes, or financial statements. Applicants must be 18 years or older and must have already identified and arranged the specific services or expenses for which assistance is being requested. Proof of qualifying circumstances and financial need is required for all applications.

Applications require submission of mandatory documentation that validates both the qualifying incident and the associated financial hardship. Acceptable proof includes official records such as police reports, death certificates, media documentation when supported by formal evidence, and itemized invoices or cost estimates from service providers.
