VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT 

 

Timotheos Foundation is a local Malawian Christian Charity whose main objective is to support and care for orphans and other vulnerable children in Malawi. It was established on 1st September 2011 and officially registered under the Trustees incorporation act of Malawi on 3rd July 2012. We are affiliated to CONGOMA as well as the NGO Regulatory Authority. Primary schools of our organization are in a growth stage hence in the process of recruiting additional members of staff to cater to the needs of their beneficiaries.

 

POSITION: NURSERY SCHOOL TEACHER – Education Assistant

The successful candidates shall be posted at Mulinga, Group Village Headman M’mwala, T/A Mbiza District: Zomba, Nyamithuthu, Chinomba Village, Group Village Headman Ntondo, T/A Tengani, Nsanje, Chigumukire, Village Kambalazaza, Group Village Headman Kailedzi, T/A Tengani, Nsanje, Mkomabasa, Fred Village, Group Village Headman James T/A Ngabu, Chikwawa, Namitambo, Mpulula Village, Group village Headman Mpulula, T/A Nkalo Chiradzulu and Mbulumbuzi, Bokosi Village, Group Village Headman Ndembe T/A Mpama Chiradzulu.

 

The candidate shall, among other things, participate in the preparation of schemes of work and lesson plans from the approved curriculum. Teaching Bible lessons, continuous assessment of the learners’ performance, and timely production of school reports. Participation in teachers’ meetings and/or any other meetings as required by the school management for the smooth running of the institution.

 

Status of the contract: One year, renewable depending on good performance, acceptable conduct. Candidates who have successfully completed the one year will be given a two-year contract after the two years the next contract will be for three years.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring that all guidelines are followed.
  • Maintaining discipline amongst the members of staff within the department.
  • Ensuring that teaching and learning are taking place in his or her class.
  • Preparing monthly and weekly themes as well as lesson plans
  • Maintaining class records e.g., attendance, scholastic, and period registers.
  • Coordinating with the Deputy Headteacher on class-related issues.
  • Providing counseling and guidance to learners.
  • Identifying students’ needs.
  • Participate in all relevant meetings within the Education section at the CCCs.
  • Compiling and submitting all relevant reports to the Deputy Head Teacher timely.

 

EDUCATION AND WORK QUALIFICATION

  • The Candidate must possess an MSCE
  • Must have a minimum qualification of ECD obtained from a reputable institution in Malawi.
  • The job requires someone who can communicate very well in both English and Chichewa Languages.
  • Must possess all qualities of a good leader.
  • Understanding the duties and tasks of a Nursery School Teacher.
  • Be able to promote the Christian identity of the organization

 

REMUNERATION

  • Salary will be commensurate with the grade and scope of the post indicated, as shall be laid out in the contract of employment.
