The UNESCO invites institutions worldwide to submit contributions highlighting women scientists for its Virtual Science Museum exhibition, aiming to broaden geographical, disciplinary, and historical perspectives.

The “Women in Science: A story in motion” exhibition seeks to showcase the achievements and experiences of women scientists, expanding the narrative across diverse regions, disciplines, and historical contexts. Eligible contributors include museums, science centres, research institutions, laboratories, universities, UNESCO Category 2 Centres, academies, learned societies, scientific networks, and organizations with a scientific or science communication mandate. Institutions may submit multiple contributions, while individuals are encouraged to participate through an eligible institution.

Selected contributions will be published on UNESCO’s free, multilingual platform, reaching an international audience and supporting educational resources. Participation is free and non-remunerated, and institutions will be credited for their contributions.

Each submission must include a detailed account of the scientist’s research and its significance, an immersive narrative of a day in her working life, and a concise biography. Submissions should be 300 to 400 words, written in English or French, and accompanied by two to ten high-resolution images, with optional video, audio, or educational materials. All necessary rights and permissions must be secured by the submitting institution.
