Role Overview:
Podcast Malawi is seeking a Video Editor & Videographer (Consultant) to support the production of high-quality podcast shows and digital video content.
This is a performance-based consultancy role focused on consistency, quality, and independent delivery. The consultant will be responsible for shooting and editing four (4) podcast shows per month, ensuring content is ready for publishing across Podcast Malawi’s digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Videography
• Film a minimum of four (4) podcast shows per month
• Set up and manage camera, lighting, and audio during recordings
• Ensure clean, professional visuals aligned with Podcast Malawi’s brand
Video Editing
• Edit full podcast episodes for YouTube and long-form platforms
• Create short clips and highlights for social media where required
• Deliver final, ready-to-publish video files on time
Content & Workflow
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Coordinate filming schedules with the Podcast Malawi team
• Maintain organised storage and backup of recorded content
• Ensure consistency in video quality, framing, sound, and branding
Required Profile & Experience:
The ideal consultant:
• Is a self-starter and highly reliable
• Can work independently without daily supervision
• Has proven experience in video shooting and editing
• Owns or has access to basic filming equipment (camera, tripod, mic)
• Is comfortable working in a fast-paced, content-driven environment
• Is punctual, organised, and delivery-focused
Formal qualifications are not mandatory — practical experience and consistency matter more.
Compensation:
• MK 300,000 per month
• Covers the delivery of four (4) shows per month
• Paid on a monthly basis, subject to delivery
