Evidence Action in Malawi
Evidence Action is a global health non-profit organization making a significant difference in Malawi. Their approach focuses on implementing and scaling up data-driven, cost-effective interventions to tackle major health challenges.
Since 2015, Evidence Action’s primary focus in Malawi has been delivering lifesaving access to safe drinking water. Their flagship program, Safe Water Now, utilizes chlorine dispensers in communities across eight districts: Balaka, Blantyre, Chiradzulu, Machinga, Mangochi, Mwanza, Neno and Zomba
As of July 2023, over 16,000 chlorine dispensers have been installed, providing access to safe water for an estimated 2.8 million Malawians, exceeding 15% of the country’s population Evidence Action: Our Work in Malawi. This rapid expansion demonstrates the program’s success in tackling waterborne illnesses.
