The Sustainability Award recognises individuals or teams whose science-based innovations in industry have led to significant, measurable improvements in environmental sustainability.

The Sustainability Award is presented by SCI to honour outstanding science-driven innovation within industry that has resulted in significant and measurable improvements in environmental sustainability, whether through product or process development or enhancements to business operations.

The award is open to individuals or teams working in companies of any size and from any country, provided they can demonstrate a substantial positive impact on the overall environmental sustainability of their organisation.

Eligible innovations must be related to chemistry or chemistry-related science and should align with SCI’s key theme areas of Global Health, Climate Change, and Sustainability. Applications are expected to provide evidence of demonstrable, measurable outcomes, and those showing material impact for society will be favoured.

Winners will receive a framed certificate and a trophy, presented at SCI’s annual awards dinner in May by a member of the judging panel or an invited guest from the scientific and industrial communities.

Nominations are accepted by self-nomination and require completion of an online nomination form, including details of the sustainability improvements achieved.
