The EASO – Novo Nordisk Foundation Obesity Prize for Excellence is inviting nominations to honor individuals who have made exceptional scientific contributions advancing the understanding, prevention, or management of obesity.

The EASO – Novo Nordisk Foundation Obesity Prize for Excellence was established to recognize individuals who have made exceptional scientific contributions to obesity research, advancing the understanding, prevention, or management of obesity on an international scale.

The award is intended for new research and is not meant to supplement existing projects. The recipient will deliver a plenary lecture at the EASO annual European Congress on Obesity (ECO), attend a reception and dinner with key stakeholders, and be invited to return to the ECO two years after the award to present research undertaken with the grant.

The prize is supported by a grant of 2 million DKK, of which 300,000 DKK is a personal grant to the winner.

Nominees must be employees of universities, hospitals, or other non-profit institutions, and must have an established international reputation for excellence in their field. Candidates of any nationality are eligible, but self-nominations and previous winners are not permitted.

Nominations are assessed based on the originality, quality, and significance of the scientific contribution to obesity research, the advancement of knowledge or influence on the field, evidence of impact, sustained scientific leadership, and meaningful involvement of people living with obesity or other relevant stakeholders.
