The Living Legacy Grants are inviting applicants with projects that contribute to the study, documentation, preservation, or transmission of traditional building cultures.

The Living Legacy Grants were established by the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation to encourage and support projects that make a significant contribution to the knowledge, practice, documentation, conservation, transmission, or dissemination of traditional building cultures worldwide. The program recognizes the broad and interdisciplinary nature of traditional building cultures and welcomes initiatives from a wide range of methodological and disciplinary backgrounds, provided they align with the objectives of the call.

Eligible projects include research and documentation, publications (print or digital), exhibitions, curatorial and cultural mediation initiatives, training and capacity-building activities such as courses and workshops, educational and outreach programs, initiatives for the transmission of traditional building trades, audiovisual documentation and archives, development of digital tools and resources, pilot or experimental projects, and other actions that contribute to preserving and expanding knowledge of traditional building cultures. Projects whose main purpose is commercial profit or that lack a direct connection to the objectives of the call are not eligible.

Each edition awards three grants, each with a maximum value of €3,000. Grants may cover all or part of the project budget and must be used exclusively for expenses directly related to the development and execution of the proposed activities. The jury may award the maximum amount or a lower sum, depending on the characteristics and budget of each proposal and the available resources.

Applications are open to individuals, associations, foundations, universities, research centers, cultural institutions, and other entities whose activities are consistent with the program’s objectives. Proposals may be submitted individually or collectively, and in either Spanish or English. All required documentation, including a project description, budget, and applicant profile, must be uploaded via the Foundation’s application form by the stated deadline.
