The Learning Planet Youth Design Challenge is inviting applicants aged 15–26 worldwide to submit innovative education projects that create real-world impact in the areas of peace, mental health, or the environment.

The Learning Planet Youth Design Challenge (LPYDC) was created to empower young people worldwide to transform their ideas into impactful education projects that contribute to a more sustainable future. The initiative responds to the need for greater support, networks, and funding for youth who are passionate about creating positive change in their communities and beyond.

Participants are invited to submit innovative projects that address one of three core themes: Peace & Democracy, Mental Health & Wellbeing, or Environment & Climate. The program is designed to help youth develop their ideas into actionable projects with real-world impact, fostering leadership and creative problem-solving among the next generation.

Sixty shortlisted projects will benefit from online training, targeted mentorship, masterclasses, and practical tools to further develop their initiatives. All shortlisted projects are showcased on the Learning Planet Institute platform and shared with a global network of education leaders and changemakers. Twelve ambassadors, selected by an international jury, will each receive a $1,000 grant to advance their projects, along with certification from the United Nations University Hub for Future of Learning with Youth (UNU FLY), invitations to international events, and tailored networking opportunities.

The 2026–27 Challenge launches on 22 September 2026, with the call for proposals opening in mid-October 2026 and closing on 7 January 2027. Online training and mentorship for the 60 selected projects will take place from March to June 2027, followed by the selection and celebration of the 12 ambassadors in July 2027.

Eligible applicants are youth aged 15–26 from any country, with projects that align with the challenge themes and demonstrate potential for real-world impact.
