OVERVIEW
Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc, part of the Illovo Sugar Africa Group, is the country’s leading producer of raw, refined, and specialty sugars. The company seeks a Crane Rigger to support operations in the Transport Workshop.
Duties and Responsibilities
Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, sheaves, and other materials based on load size
Operate equipment using levers, wheels, or foot pedals
Ensure proper setup and inspection of equipment for material movement
Repair equipment when minor issues occur
Maintain accurate records of materials moved
Test mechanical systems for proper functioning
Oversee alignment of machinery and equipment
Complete end-of-shift paperwork documenting work done and problems encountered
Conduct monthly inspections of equipment and machines
Adhere to Illovo’s policies, including SHEQ, Competent Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption
Job Requirements
Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
Certificate in Rigging
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
